This scale works perfectly for dieting. I believe in eating whatever you want, you just have to watch your portion size. This scale makes portion control easy. It weighs in grams and ounces. The removable bowl is extremely convenient. I can weigh my food and then take it to directly to the stove for cooking. The bowl also serves as a cover for the scale when not in use. It is dishwasher safe but easy to wash by hand .The display screen is very easy to read and has a blue back light. The scale itself is simple to use. It really makes measuring food fast and easy. Larger items can be weighed by removing the bowl. I like that the scale is compact it doesn't take up much space in my kitchen. The scale includes easy to follow instructions explaining how to calibrate the scale so you can always be sure that it is accurate. I love the tare function on this scale, it was much easier to use than other scales I have used in the past. I turned the scale on and placed the bowl on the weighing platform, pressed the on/off button and it was at zero. It runs on two aaa batteries and has a 60 second auto shut off.
